Lake Hondah was brainchild of Blaise Jacques. Initially owned by the Larson family (Henry & Hortense) Lake Hondah was initially sold to Blaise and sectioned off in 1973 as a religious camp / retreat for the Worldwide Church of God. It was then developed and incorporated as Lake Hondah in 1987 in 2 Phases & 3 Sections. There are 27 homes and 53 empty lots in the association.
In addition to the properties Lake Wilson and a pond are surrounded by 5 acres of parkland common areas.

The word “Hon-Dah” in the Apache language, means “welcome to my home”.
Hondah is also a place in Navajo County, Arizona, United States, on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation (population was 812 in 2010).
